New Palestine senior Brady Walden has been named the Eastside Sports Athlete of the Week.
Walden, also a football standout, helped the Dragons track and field team earn a Hoosier Heritage Conference title last week for the first time in eight seasons. He took home four blue ribbons.
Walden individually won the 100- (11.02) and 200-meter (22.46) dashes, setting a meet record in the latter. Walden also won the long jump (21’7″) and teamed with Adam Brickens, Colby Jenkins and DuRon Ford to set a meet record in the 400-meter relay (43.65).
